sketchbook drawing

Honeylocust

It is said that animals love the pulp from this tree.

Along The Meandering Trail

This is one of my favorite photos, taken at Wolf Creek in Medina Co. Ohio. You never know what's around the bend as you wander along. I love taking pictures of the unknown trail ahead.  To me, they have a mysterious calling.  Tempting me to go a little farther to see what they have to offer.  The next couple of photos are from our woods.  We have several Honey Locust trees on the property, or Thorny Locust.  They're very distinctive, as they are covered in huge thorns. I also did a sketchbook rendering of one of the trees.

South African Gourd

Just sold this custom piece.  I love creating it, and doing all the research.  I liked it so well that I'm going to start working on one or two more African pieces.  These will be influenced by the wonderful art and design of the culture. I have posted a couple websites that might inspire others also.

Custom Pieces

These three pieces I made for customers.  The first was the western theme.  The next two were a Chinese theme which I needed to do research on.  There are only approximately 1500 Giant Panda living in the Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces of Central China, amongst the bamboo forests.  The scenery is absolutely breathtaking.  I tried to replicate this mountainous region. Also just finishing up a South African piece which I like best. All four sold and am continuing to research some of the beautiful art forms of the region to incorporate into other pieces.  The design factor in the basketry and fabrics are inspiring.
First sign of spring this morning was seeing the buds on our lilac bush. We've had a few nice days now and it makes me want to get out and start cleaning out the flower beds. I did clean the bluebirds nesting box yesterday.  Will need to keep a watchful eye on that.
